Established to recognize donors who contribute $1,000 or more on an annual basis, the Beacon Society of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB) boasts over 7,000 members. Beacon Society members are critical to the success of UWMB. They demonstrate a strong commitment to caring and share the common belief that positive social change happens when new standards of achievement are set and communities work together for a common goal.

Benefits of Membership

  • Opportunities to network and meet with other business and community individuals who share a like-minded spirit of philanthropy
  • Invitation to ongoing Voices of Leadership Luncheon events held January through June
  • Invitation to a community reception for all leadership donors (gifts of $1,000+) in the area where you live
  • Recognition, along with your peers, in our annual Leadership Giving Roster. (However, members may request that their names not be published.)
  • Quarterly newsletter which highlights recent United Way and community information

Beacon Society Giving Levels

  • Leaders: $1,000-$2,499
  • Principals: $2,500-$4,999
  • Torchbearer: $5,000-$9,999
